Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Gujranwala was established in 1983. BISE Gujranwala has the responsibility to conduct the annual and supply exams of Matric and intermediate classes in the districts of Gujranwala, Narowal, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Gujrat and Mandi Baha Uddin. The Schools in Gujranwala and colleges in government and private sectors are affiliated with Gujranwala Board and BISE Gujranwala Board is responsible to conduct the exams at the proper time in the schools and colleges. Gujranwala board has its own schedule to conduct the annual and supply exams of matric and inter classes in the month of March and April respectively and the BISE Gujranwala date sheets of the annual exams of both the exams are announced one month before the start of the annual exams.

The students of Gujranwala Board appear in the annual exams of SSC and HSSC and they can send their admission forms at their earliest, so that they can appear in annual exams matric class part1 and 2. BISE Gujranwala will prepare the annual exams result of SSC and HSSC three months after the annual exams of 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th classes. the inter part 1 date sheet and the inter part 2 date sheet will be provided to the students, when Gujranwala Board will declare the date sheet matric part 1 and date sheet part 2.
